ABOUT JAMIE
Hi, I'm Jamie, the founder of Healing with Dogs KC.
Animals have been at the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Before this, I spent nearly a decade serving as a Certified Animal Control Officer and Shelter Manager. During that time, I saw tens of thousands of pets, each with their own story, struggles, and spark. From the fearful and forgotten to the goofy and grateful, I witnessed firsthand how much trust, patience, and compassion it takes to help an animal feel safe again. Those years shaped everything I do today.
Healing with Dogs was born from that experience, and from a deep belief that every pet deserves to feel calm, cared for, and understood, even during the moments they find most stressful.
My focus is on gentle, trust-based care, especially for pets who struggle with anxiety, fear, or trauma, and those who are entering their golden years. Senior pets hold a very special place in my heart. I understand the physical changes, sensitivities, and medical considerations that come with aging, and I take extra care to make each visit as comfortable, respectful, and soothing as possible.
Whether it's a nervous nail trim, a calming restoration for itchy or aging skin, or a simple maintenance visit between vet appointments, I meet every pet where they are, with patience, understanding, and heart. I've built Healing with Dogs to be a mobile, low-stress experience designed entirely around comfort, safety, and connection.
What makes me the right choice for your pet isn't just my years of professional experience, it's my unwavering belief that your pet deserves to be treated like family. I take pride in noticing the little things: the sigh of relief when they realize they're safe, the sparkle that returns to their eyes when they feel better, and the trust that grows each time we meet.

A promise with a bigger dream.
Today, that promise rides in a brand-new, custom-built mobile spa outfitted specifically for restorative skin and coat care using Iv San Bernard (ISB) professional protocols, which I trained in for exactly this work. And it carries a bigger dream: Healing with Dogs KC has a nonprofit application in progress, and the care families book for their own dogs helps fund the same care, completely free, for shelter dogs still waiting for their families.
